Re: Problem backup Postgresql
Hi, I've tried to reproduce the problem, but if I use the right user for backup it works. 1) create a new Login Role (sepsesam) with rights to testdb and a new database (testdb) 2) insert in backup task configuration tab "options" -a user=sepsesam,port=11201 http://wiki.sep.de/wiki/index.php/SEP_ses...

Re: Install SEP sesam server and client without DNS
Hi, name resolution is required. In small environments you can use the hosts files of sesam server and sesam clients. You can use a domain name of you choice. On sesam server add the sesam server himself and all clients to hosts file. 10.10.10.10 sesamserver.mydomain.abc 10.10.10.11 client1.mydomain...

Re: Problem backup Postgresql
Hi, normally this means, that the saved size is zero, for instance if you haven't create a database or have'nt any content within your database. You can set the loglevel of the backup task to a higher level, insert in the field "save options" within the task configuration (tab: options) the value "-...

Re: After a powerdown, configuration is lost
Hi,
that looks like a DB problem. Best solution is a support ticket at SEP. They can import an old DB version or can find the real problem.

Re: Timezone in GUI
Hi, reinstalling only GUI isn't possible, but I'm really sure that the an Reinstallation solve the issue. Re: Timezone in GUI
Hi,
I've seen this only one time (timezone middle east), it was a java bug.
Please try to install a separate GUI on a PC (with actual ORACLE [SUN] Java JRE installed) and check if it's the same effect.

Hello, this looks like a rights problem. The cause can be: - firewall - the client isn't allowed to connect the server with a GUI http://wiki.sepsoftware.com/wiki/index.php/English_FAQ#How_do_I_set_permissions_for_GUI_Client_after_Version_3.x.3F - a name resolution problem (GUI PC and Sesam Server m...

Re: Unable to read tape label.
Hello, I'm not sure, why the output of the mt command is so short. May be it depends of the linux distribution or mt version. On my SuSE system the output is mt -f /dev/tape/by-id/scsi-350223344ab000413-nst status drive type = Generic SCSI-2 tape drive status = 1174405120 sense key error = 0 residue...

Hello,
in the sesam GUI, left side "Main selection" window -> "Job state" -> "Backups" doubleclick
This open the "Backups" tab in the right (middle) window.

Re: Invalid set writer name?
Hello, in the "Day Log" you can see only the message, that the command "sbc -b..." (backup start) on the client have not worked, not why. Please have a look at the backup log of the task. There you can see the real cause. May by it's better to set a higher loglevel for the job and start the job. JGB
