Hi,

regarding

--snip--
Backup of VMs using VDDK 5.0/5.1 on Linux can fail occasionally. These are known issues in VDDK and VMware is still working on a new version to fix them. We advise to use VDDK version 5.0 on Windows as long as the problems in VDDK for Linux exist. SEP will inform you, when a new version will be available here. For more information please refer on this VMware Knowledge Base article: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2039931
--endofsnip--

anything new on this topic? maybe fixed in
VMware-vix-disklib-5.1.1-1042608.x86_64.tar.gz ?

i have a customer urgently waiting to implement lan-free backups. and for obvious reasons he doesn't like the idea to buy a physical windows box with RDS license as temporary workaround...

Hi,

the issue isn't fixed by VMWare in the 5.1.1 VDDK :-( .
They've also changed some libraries, so that you can't use the 5.1.1 version with SEP Sesam.
