HP MSL2024

Post by dgrunblatt » January 31st, 2012, 8:05 pm

Hi, we have 2 HP Storageworks MSL20204 and SEP does not recognize them. I can see them under the Device Manager properly configured.
We have a Windows 2008 R2 Server and we are testing SEP in order to purchase it.

Regards,
Daniel

No matter what I type under SCSI-ID, it doesn't work.

C:\Program Files\SEPsesam\bin\sesam>slu.exe scan
ID=4040 other: HP Ultrium 4-SCSI B59W (Tape0)
ID=4041 other: HP MSL G3 Series 5.00 (Changer0)
ID=4050 other: HP Ultrium 3-SCSI G63W (Tape1)
ID=4051 other: HP MSL G3 Series 5.00 (Changer1)
STATUS=SUCCESS MSG="OK"

Hi,

sesam ask the operating system, what kind of device is available. In your output og slu scan you can see, that the OS says, that the type is "other".

Therefore the devices will not added automatically to the configuration. This is a driver issue of the windows driver and / or loader/tape firmware. You can add the drives and the loaders manually, using "Tape1".. "Changer2". Most time the devices will working correctly.
