Email setup

Post by fayr » November 20th, 2008, 2:48 pm

Hi,
I have setup the Email Account in Sesam, but I'd like to confirm that it is actually working (as I don't think it is). Does anyone have suggestions on how to confirm it's working?

I found the Administration guide unclear, and it also had no suggestions on how to troubleshoot.

We have purchased a license (via a reseller), but I don't know how to get support.

Thanks

Hi, i testing sep sesam, and found how to make email work on linux:

sesam installed on /opt/sesam:

edit /opt/sesam/bin/sesam/sm_notify (is a bash script)
in send_mail function:
sm_smtp -A "sesam" -s "$mail_subject" -m "$mail_text"

replace -A "sesam" with -A "[account name in gui mail setup]"

Next. in MAIN you find a "case" that say:
case $1 in
ALL_JOBS_DONE)
INIT)
GET_VOLUME)
BACKUP)
RESTORE)
BACKUP_GROUP)
COPY)
esac

when a backup job is done, sesam call sm_notify with 2 params, the 1st is job type, ej: BACKUP, and second is the status text, ej: "Job result success"

if you uncomment the line "# send_mail "$1" "$2" under BACKUP section in "case", when a backup job end, sesam execute this instruction.

when all jobs are done for this day, sesam call sm_notify with 1st param "ALL_JOBS_DONE", so uncomment lines in "case" to send mail on this jobs.

Sorry, but my english is very bad.
