Moving the backup server to a new one

Hi,
I have a client with sesam server 3.4 running on SLES server 9

We are installing a new sles 10 server and will be installing SEP server on it. We will go through the licence transfer procedure no problems there

However, I would like to know if it's possible to move the configuration fro mthe 3.4 server to the new 4.0 server, or does all this need to be created from scratch?

Hi,

you have to update from 3.4 to 3.6 and then from 3.6 to 4.0. Otherwise sesam will not start anymore. The SEP support team could help you, but I think, you already set up the sesam server from scratch, didn't you?
